A Coracle Course and Reflections on Journeys into the Unknown

A Coracle Course and Reflections on Journeys into the Unknown

£300.00

Thomas Merton describes the Christian life as an adventure, once you have placed your life in the care of God, you cannot take it back. A sixth century Irish Christian called Brendan had a story written about him called 'The Voyage of St Brendan'. The story reflects what Thomas Merton is encouraging all Christian to explore, but also central to the story are Christ's words 'Do not be afraid'. If Christ is calling us to place our care with him and follow Him on an adventure, then His words 'Do not be afraid' give us a clue as to what to expect!

This practical workshop will give you an opportunity to help build a sailable version of a coracle that Brendan used in his adventure on the ocean and you will also be able to take one home.

You will also hear about a Community who has chosen to view their Christian calling and work as if on an adventure, actively seeking to trust God more and more.

B&B is available at £46 per night at our rural centre in Leicestershire.
