Monos originated in 2005 in order to join the conversation about mutual support and a shared Christian spirituality of those living outside the monastic enclosure and those within.

This website is the fruit of those conversations and we hope it provides some support for those engaged in living monastic culture and spirituality in their lives as a way of nurturing: resilience, stability, compassion and community within ourselves, our family our group or church.

It is no longer good enough just to talk about the benefits of fostering a monastic spirit within ourselves, society and the Church, it is time to put things into practice, to enact a fearful hope for humanity in an uncertain world.
